SF Babel MeetUp

Thursday International Language Exchange

Make friends and practice speaking another language every Thursday in downtown San Francisco. We're a group of people from different countries that meet each week to practice languages and make new friends over drinks! Each Thursday, native speakers of English, Japanese, French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Mandarin and many other languages meet in an artsy bar close to Union Square, BART, and many bus lines.

When you arrive, get a sticker from the host, on it you write your name and the languages you speak and those you'd like to practice to make it easy to find people to talk to. Second, put $1 in the donation jar to support the group. It's open to all nationalities and languages and you can talk about anything you like. You don´t have to be an advanced speaker, or even speak a second language - its for everyone!

Homework is a tribute to the French Touch, a genre of house music originally produced by French artists such as Daft Punk, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar, Cassius, DJ Gregory, St Germain, Martin Solveig among others. Inspired by disco and early house & techno music producers from Chicago, Detroit, and NYC, the genre gained popularity in the late 1990s and 2000s after the release from a young duo from Versailles named Daft Punk of their first album: Homework!
