SF Babel MeetUp

Thursday International Language Exchange

Make friends and practice speaking another language every Thursday in downtown San Francisco. We're a group of people from different countries that meet each week to practice languages and make new friends over drinks! Each Thursday, native speakers of English, Japanese, French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, Mandarin and many other languages meet in an artsy bar close to Union Square, BART, and many bus lines.

When you arrive, get a sticker from the host, on it you write your name and the languages you speak and those you'd like to practice to make it easy to find people to talk to. Second, put $1 in the donation jar to support the group. It's open to all nationalities and languages and you can talk about anything you like. You don´t have to be an advanced speaker, or even speak a second language - its for everyone!

with DJ Michelle Musial + DJ Seven

2nd Thursdays

$5 at 9pm

OOMPH a magnetic dance party dedicated to the way house music makes us feel and our bodies move set to launch by Chicago born DJ Michelle Musial at the cool and quirky Bar Fluxus with local favorite DJ Seven.

These artists combine distinct styles of deep, energetic, funky, melodic, and underground house music to bring you the warm feel good vibes of San Francisco paired with the booty shaking, driving sound of Chicago aka the OOMPH.

DJ Seven has been a staple in the San Francisco underground music scene for almost three decades and was honored in the mid-2000's by Reader's Poll as one of the Top 10 Dreamteam DJs two years in a row. He has played alongside DJs Kruder & Dorfmeister, Booka Shade, Mark Farina, Gene Farris along with local mainstays M3, Solar, Galen and DJ Sol who he held a 10 year DJ residency with at Wish Bar.

It should come as no surprise that DJ Michelle Musial began her career in Chicago- the birthplace of house music and the same place that's produced many of the industry's biggest most envied DJs. "You can see Chicago in my bounce when I deejay," she says. Michelle has graced the decks for Lady Gaga and alongside DJs Doc Martin and Moonboots to name a few. She has also held residencies with the Americano, Press Club, Sens and you can catch her at the Cerise Rooftop at the Virgin Hotel Chicago. After a series of successes in the spotlighted scene the last decade, Michelle is taking it from the boutique and lounge back to the club, where music-maker and booty-shaker become one.
