The Italian Party

Presented by Sonamo’ Italian Funk and

9pm to 2am

Cover Charge: $10

You probably know what Funk is, you may know what Italian music sounds like, but do you have any idea of what Italian Funk Music is?

Fresh and definitely unique, Sonamo’ is one the hottest band in the SF Bay Area, bringing the energy, the happiness and the quality of their music on stage.

We dare to change your perception of Italian music by blending the music background of each band member (funk, jazz, rock with a Latin twist) while keeping the Italian influence at the backbone.

As a matter of fact, Sonamo’ performs tunes that have roots in the deepest Italian tradition with African, Hispanic and Middle Eastern influence, since the Italian territory has been colonized by many different cultures throughout the history.

The musicians are extremely talented; the exciting vibe is contagious and sometimes mesmerizing but easy to listen.

In a nutshell, you can dance it or listen to it, you’ll have a blast either way. You must experience it first-hand to believe.

Sonamo' - Italian Funk

Sonamo' meaning comes from a dialect word from Napoli (ITALY) which literally means “play now!” but it's actually slang for "show me what you got [in a provocative way]”.

Band founder Giuseppe Pinto moved to San Francisco CA in 2010 from Italy, after walking his path through the music scene in city, he started playing with several local bands and artists (such as Big Blu Soul Revue, Sambada’, Brazil Vox, Black Mahal, Namorados Da Lua, etc...).

After few years, he came to the realization that there is a lack of modern Italian music in the american music scene. On top of all, Italian music is well known and often associated to its classical side while there is an unknown world of jazz and funk.

The meeting with guitarist Trent Berry brought to the decision of putting together a band that can express a smooth blend between Italian and American culture through music.

The band proposes original music where one can listen to possible to the different background of each band member
