Homework is a tribute to the French Touch, a genre of house music originally produced by French artists such as Daft Punk, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar, Cassius, DJ Gregory, St Germain, Martin Solveig among others. Inspired by disco and early house and techno music producers from Chicago, Detroit, and NYC, the genre gained popularity in the late 1990s and 2000s after the release from a young duo from Versailles named Daft Punk of their first album: Homework!
Oury Thomas started mixing in 2001 by digging vinyls in record shops playing in bars, clubs, and radios in his hometown Paris among a young generation of DJs and musicians such as Greg Gauthier & Sven Love (Cheers), Amnaye (Real Tone Records, Innervisions), Na’Sayah (Haïku), Heartbeat (Dement3d), Qalomota Records, Serious Man (Different Muziq), Jeremy Underground...
Guillaume Dumortier started mixing at the end of the 90s inspired by the emergence of the French Touch movement led by this filtered disco-house music genre from producers like the Daft Punk, Cassius, Etienne de Crecy, Justice, Stardust...
